Short version

Your birth date, birth time and birth place never leave your device. Every calculator on this site computes entirely in your browser, and the birth details you enter into one are never sent anywhere.

The AI assistant is the one feature that talks to a server built for it, because answering a question needs a language model and that model runs elsewhere. It is sent your question and figures worked out from your chart, such as which sign a planet is in and when a period runs. It is never sent your birth date, your birth time or your place of birth.

A separate, optional connector lets an external assistant such as Claude call two of our calculators, kundli matching and Vimshottari dasha, directly. Unlike every calculator on this site, that connector does compute on a server, because it exists to be used by software running outside your browser. It only runs if you deliberately connect it yourself; nothing about the calculators or the assistant on this site changes because it exists. See The MCP connector below for exactly what it receives and what it does with it.

Every page, including the calculators, loads Google Analytics and Google AdSense, which see the pages you visit but never the birth details you enter. See Analytics and advertising below.

Signing in is optional. You never need an account to use a calculator or the assistant, and the calculators still send nothing to a server either way. Signing in only changes where your saved charts and chat conversations live: on your account instead of only this browser. We do not sell or share personal information.

What we collect

Birth data, meaning your date, time and place of birth, is processed entirely within your browser. It is not transmitted to us by the calculators, and it is not transmitted by the assistant either. This is a property of how the site is built rather than a promise about how we behave: the request the assistant sends has no field in it for a birth date, a birth time or a place, so there is nothing for one to be put in. The one exception is the MCP connector, an optional integration for external AI assistants, which does receive birth data because that is the only way software outside a browser can use it; see The MCP connector below.

Our hosting provider records standard server logs when your browser requests a page. These typically include an IP address, the page requested, a timestamp and a browser user agent string. They are generated by the hosting infrastructure for security and reliability, not by us, and we do not use them to build any profile of you.

Celebrity birth charts

The birth charts shown on the celebrities pages are not personal data in the sense the rest of this page describes: nobody submitted that birth information to us. It is public-figure information already published elsewhere, such as Wikipedia, and the chart for each page is computed once, on our servers, at the time the site is built, from that publicly sourced date and place of birth. It does not pass through your browser and is not something you sent us.

This is a different situation from the calculators above, which compute your own chart on your device from birth details you type in and never transmit. A celebrity chart is the reverse: fixed, published content about a public figure, prepared in advance and served to every visitor the same way a photograph or an article would be.

Analytics and advertising

This site uses Google Analytics to see which pages get visited and Google AdSense to serve advertising. Both load on every page, including the calculators. Neither is told your birth date, birth time, birth place or anything a calculator computed: they run as ordinary, unmodified third-party scripts with no connection to the calculation code, so there is nothing in this site wiring a birth detail through to either of them.

Google Analytics and Google AdSense set their own cookies and may use device identifiers to measure traffic and, for AdSense, to personalise which adverts you see. That data is collected and processed by Google under its own privacy policy, not ours. You can control ad personalisation for your Google account through the Google Ads Settings page, and most browsers let you block or delete these cookies directly.

What is stored on your device

The site uses your browser local storage for four things: your choice of light or dark theme, any birth charts you have saved, your chat conversations, and whether the chat sidebar is open.

Saved charts contain the birth details you entered, including date, time, place name and coordinates. Chat conversations contain everything said in them. Both are held only in the browser you used, are readable only by this site, and are never uploaded to us or to anyone else.

You can remove a saved chart or a conversation from inside the site at any time, and clearing your browser data removes all of it at once. Because this storage is per browser, a chart saved on your phone will not appear on your laptop, unless you are signed in; see Signing in below.

An earlier version of this page said local storage held only the theme setting. That was written before saved charts and the chat existed and was not updated when they were added. It was wrong, and this section is the correction.

Signing in

Signing in is optional, and works two ways: with a Google account, or with a link emailed to you. Neither needs a password.

If you sign in, your saved charts and chat conversations stop living only in this browser and are also kept in our database, tied to your account, so they follow you to any device you sign into afterwards. Nothing else about the site changes: the calculators still compute entirely in your browser and still send nothing else anywhere, and the assistant is still never sent your birth date, birth time or place, signed in or not.

What we store for a signed-in account is your email address, and whichever saved charts and chat conversations you keep, in the same shape already described above: birth date, time, place name, coordinates and conversation text. We send you nothing beyond a sign-in link you asked for.

You can sign out from the account control in the header at any time. Signing out ends the session on that device; it does not delete what is stored under your account. To have your account and everything under it deleted, write to us; see Contact.

The AI assistant

When you ask the assistant a question, three things are sent: the question itself, the conversation so far, and figures calculated from the chart you have attached. Those figures are things like the sign and degree a planet occupies, which house it falls in, its dignity, and the start and end dates of your dasha periods.

Your birth date, birth time, place name and coordinates are not among them, and are never sent.

One caveat worth stating plainly rather than glossing over: dasha period dates are derived from your birth moment, so someone holding them could work backwards to an approximate birth date, roughly to the precision of the birth star. They carry no time of day and no place. We send them because a question like "when does my Jupiter period begin" cannot be answered without them, and you can see the same dates printed under every answer.

The request goes first to our own relay, which exists only to hold the key that the model provider requires and which cannot be published in a web page. The relay keeps no database, writes no log and retains no transcript. It reads the request, passes it on, streams the answer back and holds nothing.

From there the question and the figures go to the company that runs the language model. This site currently uses that provider's free tier, and under its terms the content sent to it, along with the answers generated, may be used to improve that company's products and services and may be reviewed by a person working for them. If you would rather nothing you type reaches a third party, use the calculators, which send nothing at all.

Your conversations themselves stay in your browser. They are not uploaded, and we cannot read them.

The MCP connector

astrogpt.in also offers a connector (using the Model Context Protocol) that lets an external AI assistant, such as Claude, call two of this site's calculators directly: kundli matching and Vimshottari dasha. This is separate from the conversational assistant described above, and separate from every calculator on the site: it is the one part of astrogpt.in built to be used by software you run, rather than a page you visit in a browser.

It exists nowhere unless you connect it. Nobody using the calculators or the assistant on this site sends anything to it, and adding it changes nothing about how the calculators or the assistant behave.

If you do connect it, whatever assistant you connect it to sends it the birth details needed for the calculation you ask for: date, time, place coordinates and, for a kundli match, the same for a second person. That is a real difference from the rest of this site: the connector computes on our server rather than in your browser, because that is the only way software outside a browser can use it.

The connector does not store, log or retain anything it is sent. It reads the request, computes the result with the same calculation code the site's own pages use, returns it, and keeps no copy. We have no record of who used it or what for.

Whatever you send through it is also subject to whatever assistant or platform you are using to connect to it, such as Claude: that platform may log, store or otherwise handle the request under its own privacy terms before it ever reaches us. Check that platform's own policy if this matters to you.

The paid plan

If you subscribe to the paid plan, your email address and the fact that you have a subscription are shared with Razorpay, our payment processor, so it can bill you and tell us the result. We never see or store your card, UPI id or bank account details; those are handled entirely by Razorpay under its own privacy policy.

We keep a record of your subscription status (active, cancelled and so on), the dates it covers, and the identifiers Razorpay assigns to your subscription, so the site knows which daily message allowance to give you and so we can help if something goes wrong with a payment. We also keep a log of the billing events Razorpay sends us, for the same reason.

Cancelling your subscription, described in Terms, does not delete this billing history. To have it deleted along with the rest of your account, write to us; see Contact.

Your rights

Indian law, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023, gives you rights over personal data held about you, including access, correction and erasure. Visitors in the United Kingdom and the European Economic Area have comparable rights under the UK GDPR and the EU GDPR.

In practice there is very little for us to act on, because we retain nothing. Your birth details and your conversations are on your own device and under your own control, and you can delete them from inside the site or by clearing your browser data. The assistant request passes through our relay without being stored, so once an answer has been returned there is no copy of it here to retrieve, correct or erase.

If you believe we hold something about you, contact us and we will look into it.

Children

This site is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone. The calculators require no age declaration because they send nothing anywhere. The assistant is not intended for use by children, and we ask that a parent or guardian decides whether it is appropriate.

Changes

If the site adds a feature that sends, stores or retains anything new, such as accounts, analytics or advertising, this page is updated before that feature goes live and the date at the top changes. That has been true in one direction and not the other: the assistant is described here before it was switched on, but the note about saved charts and conversations went unwritten for some time after those features shipped. Both are now described above.

On 26 August 2026, Google Analytics and Google AdSense were added site-wide, including on the calculator pages. The Analytics and advertising section above was added the same day to describe them.

On 27 August 2026, optional sign-in was added. The Signing in section above was added the same day, before the feature went live, to describe exactly what moves to our database if you choose to use it.

On 27 August 2026, celebrity birth chart pages were added. The Celebrity birth charts section above was added the same day: it is published content about public figures, computed once when the site is built rather than sent by any visitor, and is described separately from the rest of this page for that reason.

On 28 August 2026, a paid plan was added: ₹199 per month via Razorpay, raising the assistant's daily message allowance for signed-in subscribers. The Pricing, billing and cancellation section in Terms and The paid plan section above were added the same day, before the feature went live, to describe exactly what is shared with Razorpay and what cancelling does.

If we change which company runs the language model, or move off its free tier, the section on the assistant will say so.

On 28 August 2026, an MCP connector was added, letting an external assistant such as Claude call the kundli matching and Vimshottari dasha calculators directly. The MCP connector section above was added the same day, before the feature went live, because it is the first part of this site where a calculation is computed on a server rather than in your browser.
