KP system

The Krishnamurti Paddhati refines a position beyond its sign and nakshatra by subdividing the nakshatra in Vimshottari proportion. The resulting sub lord is what the system reads from.

This calculator uses Placidus cusps, as the KP system requires, rather than the whole sign houses used elsewhere on the site.

About this calculator

How does KP differ from standard Vedic astrology?

It uses Placidus house cusps instead of whole signs, its own ayanamsa value, and it treats the sub lord of a cusp as the deciding factor rather than the sign lord.
