Astrology itself is a belief system, not something this site takes a position on. What is checkable is whether an AI astrology answer is actually rooted in the classical texts, the Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra and works of that standing, rather than invented by a model. AstroGPT computes your chart with a dedicated astronomy engine and lets its AI narrate only the figures already calculated, citing the specific verse a rule comes from wherever one exists, and saying plainly when it does not have one.

No AI astrology tool can honestly promise that. What AstroGPT can promise is narrower and checkable: the positions and periods are computed by the same astronomy engine every calculator on this site uses, checked field by field against a published report, and every interpretive line in a chat answer is either a scripture citation or a labelled arithmetic result, never an invented rule.

A general purpose chatbot has no astronomy engine behind it. Asked for a planetary position or a dasha period, it is guessing from patterns in its training text rather than calculating anything, and it has no way to cite the verse a rule is meant to come from. AstroGPT works the other way round: the chart is computed first, in your browser, by a dedicated engine, and the AI only narrates the figures it is handed.

We are not going to name and rank the field for you here. What is worth checking on any AI astrology chat, this one included, is whether an answer traces to a specific classical text and verse or is invented on the spot with no way to check it. AstroGPT prints the citation, or, where the classical texts do not cover something, says so instead of filling the gap.

None of them, used directly. A language model on its own has no ephemeris and cannot compute a planetary position, a dasha period or a divisional chart, so any figure it gives you is invented rather than calculated. AstroGPT uses a model to write the sentence, not to do the astronomy: the chart is computed first by a dedicated engine, and the model only narrates the result.

No. The calculators run in your browser using JavaScript on your own device, and the pages they sit on are static files with nothing behind them to send anything to. Your birth details are not logged, stored or transmitted. If you save a chart it is kept in your own browser and stays there. The one feature that does contact a server is the AI chat, and it is sent figures worked out from your chart rather than your birth date, time or place; the privacy page sets out exactly what it sends.

The navamsa divides each sign into nine parts of 3 degrees 20 minutes each and rebuilds the chart from where every planet falls. It is the most consulted divisional chart after the birth chart itself, traditionally read for marriage and for the underlying strength of a planet. A planet that looks well placed in the birth chart but poorly placed in the navamsa is generally treated as weaker than it first appears.

Lahiri, also called Chitrapaksha, anchored to 23 degrees 15 minutes 00 seconds on 21 March 1956 following the Indian Calendar Reform Committee definition. This is the standard used by the Indian government and by most Indian software, so results line up with the panchangs and charts you are likely to be comparing against.

Almost always one of three reasons. Different ayanamsa, since Raman and Krishnamurti values differ from Lahiri by several arc minutes. Different house system, since whole-sign, Placidus and Sripati produce different cusps. Or a different timezone assumption for historical dates, which matters a great deal for Indian births before 1955 when local time rules changed. The specification table lists exactly what AstroGPT uses so you can compare like with like.

The ascendant moves roughly one degree every four minutes, so house positions and the navamsa become unreliable quickly without an accurate time. Planetary positions in the birth chart are far more forgiving, and the Moon only moves about half a degree per hour. If you have a time to the nearest hour, sign positions will usually be right, but treat house-based and divisional readings with caution.

The classical set is sixteen, called the shodashavarga, running from the birth chart itself through to the D60 shashtiamsa. Parashara describes each one and the area of life it governs. AstroGPT computes all sixteen, and will also divide a chart by any other number if you want to explore beyond the traditional set.

The D1, or rashi chart, is the birth chart itself and shows the visible circumstances of life. The D9 is derived from it by dividing each sign into nine parts. Classical practice reads the D1 for events and the D9 for the durability behind them. Neither replaces the other, and a planet is normally judged by looking at both.

Whole sign houses, where the sign containing the ascendant becomes the entire first house. This is the system Parashara describes and the one most Vedic practice assumes. The KP calculator, when it is finished, will use Placidus cusps instead, because the KP system depends on them.

Yes. Any date, time and place on earth works, and the geocoder covers cities worldwide. The astronomy has no regional assumptions built into it. Only the interface language and the reference tables are oriented toward Indian practice.

Positions are computed from Meeus reduction with ELP-2000/82 lunar terms and Keplerian planetary elements, which agree with published ephemerides to within a fraction of an arc minute for the range of dates people actually use. That is far finer than any interpretive distinction in Jyotisha depends on.

No. It computes positions, divisions, periods and traditional scores, and reports what the classical rules say about them. What you do with that is your own reading. The site makes no guaranteed predictions and offers no medical, legal or financial advice.
