120-বছরের গ্রহকাল

বিংশোত্তরী দশা

The Vimshottari system divides a 120 year cycle among nine planetary lords. Which lord you begin life under, and how much of that period remains at birth, is set by the position of the Moon within its nakshatra.

Enter one set of birth details in the console. The result shows which period is running now, the balance remaining at birth, and the full sequence with dates down to the antardasha.

About this calculator

How is the starting dasha decided?

By the nakshatra the Moon occupies at birth. Each of the 27 nakshatras is ruled by one of the nine dasha lords, and the proportion of the nakshatra the Moon has already crossed is the proportion of that first period already spent.

Why is the first period shorter than the full length?

Because it begins before birth. If the Moon is halfway through a nakshatra ruled by Venus, then half of the twenty year Venus period has already elapsed and ten years remain.

What is an antardasha?

A subdivision of a mahadasha. Each major period is divided among all nine lords in proportion to their own period lengths, starting with the lord of the major period itself.
